“In addition to his ability to teach the game of golf, he also has an incredible ability to instill confidence in his students. I left each and every lesson with a positive attitude and excitement to work on the change we had made that day. His love for the game of golf is clear, and so is his passion for helping others find theirs. Working with Seth has inspired me to build a career in the golf industry. This fall, I will be attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to major in PGA Management, and Seth’s influence has been a huge inspiration behind this. I hope to someday be able to impact others and their golf journeys like he has impacted mine.”

“Sam has been instrumental in improving my golf game in numerous ways. He has taught me how to effectively navigate a golf course and hit a variety of shots to perform at my highest level. Additionally, he has emphasized that golf is not solely about the golf swing but rather about executing the perfect golf shot that is in front of you. I heard about Ken Schall from people ranking them as one of the best golf performance studios in Iowa and got connected with Sam from day one. I appreciate Sam’s teaching style because he goes into great detail (while still keeping things simple) about what hinders my performance and offers strategies to improve my overall game. Additionally, he ensures that lessons are enjoyable and constructive. One thing I sought in a Coach was someone positive, experienced in tournament golf, and with a long history in the game. Sam embodies all these qualities, and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from such a great Coach.“

“My six years of learning from Ken have been so successful that I’m constantly having to re-write my goals as they get accomplished under his guidance: achieving 4 AJGA Tour titles, qualifying for 7 USGA Championships, over 100 junior tournament wins, being named First Team High School All-American, #1 ranking worldwide in my class of 2020, and now in 2021 playing on Baylor’s golf team currently ranked #1 in the NCAA Division 1. As I continue on this path, there is no one I trust more to guide me and my game for years to come than Ken.”

“”Our son, Easton, was struggling mentally, and his golf season was off to a rough start. He booked a lesson with Sam, and when he came home, his first words were, ‘That was the best lesson I have had!’
He felt like Sam really helped him and gave him tips on how to fix a couple major things. The following week, Easton won the Class 3A State Golf Tournament at Veenker with a score of 6-under-par.
I know one lesson didn’t do this, but I truly believe the timing of that lesson and Sam’s instruction helped him tremendously. Something about that lesson changed something internally in Easton. I saw it when he came home, and I saw it on the course.
It goes beyond the game and building trust with your students, and Sam did that with Easton. We are so appreciative of the time and care he invests in these kids.”

“As one of Seth’s students, I’ve had the opportunity to experience firsthand the passion, patience, and expertise he brings to every lesson. He has the ability to explain certain techniques in a way that is clear and encouraging, no matter what your skill level. His dedication to improving my game while also building confidence and character sets him apart and makes him an outstanding instructor. Beyond swing mechanics and course strategy, he teaches with genuine care and respect for the game. I really appreciate how he goes above and beyond to make each lesson meaningful. He adapts to my individual learning style and consistently creates a positive, motivating environment. Thanks to his guidance, I’ve not only grown as a golfer but also as a person.”

Junior Golf Questions
- What age should my child start taking private golf lessons?
Children can begin learning golf at a young age, provided they can follow basic instructions and enjoy participating. At Ken Schall Golf, we tailor instruction to each child’s age, coordination, attention span, and experience. Generally speaking, somewhere around 9-11 years old is a good age to start. Younger than that, group instruction and clinics are a better starting point.
- How often should my child take golf lessons?
Lesson frequency depends on age, goals, and how often the junior practices or plays. Beginners may benefit from periodic instruction with time to practice between sessions, while competitive players often follow a more structured development plan. The lesson practice and play, the longer period of time between lessons.
- Do you teach complete beginners or only competitive junior golfers?
We work with juniors at every stage, from children learning their first golf fundamentals to high school players and competitive golfers preparing for tournaments and college golf.
- Can golf lessons help my child make their high school golf team?
Our instructors help aspiring high school golfers develop the skills needed for competitive golf, including consistent ball striking, short-game performance, course management, and effective practice habits. While team selection cannot be guaranteed, we can help players prepare for tryouts!
- Can parents watch their child's golf lessons?
We always recommend parents watch their Juniors Golf lessons. Parent’s are the Coaches greatest tool when it comes to an unbiased opinion about the players habits, tendencies, and performance. The most important part is that each person remembers their role in the players development. While parents being present is encouraged, it is not the parents job to provide coaching during the lesson.
